About
Dr. Dahlia Keen is a sought-after licensed Clinical Psychologist who has been practicing clinical psychology in private practice in Beverly Hills, California since 2004. She is originally from Toronto, Canada so she has both an American and Canadian perspective. Adults, adolescents, children and couples come to her for help with issues relating to anxiety and depression, dating and relationships, phobias and shyness, sex therapy, addictions and eating disorders. Her strong background of education and experience combined with her sensitivity, compassion and perceptivity enable her to diagnose and treat the specific concerns you bring to her office.
She earned her combined Doctorate and Masters Degree from the California School of Professional Psychology in Los Angeles, and her second Masters Degree from the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, Illinois.
Dr. Dahlia coined the term “simulated dating” within clinical psychology and was the first to implement it in connection with psychological services. She created simulated-dating therapy™, a system of improving dating skills in real world settings. She has also worked as a relationship consultant for several prominent dating services throughout California. In Los Angeles, Dr. Dahlia has been nicknamed “Madam of the Mind” because of her specialization in dating and relationship work.
Leading media outlets have consulted with Dr. Dahlia for her expert advice. She has lectured and taught at academic institutions-colleges and universities, and has published numerous articles and chapters in prominent books, magazines, and psychological journals.
“I am devoted to helping individuals address difficulties in their relationships as they relate to intimacy, family, friendships and even dating. I truly believe that dysfunctional relationships are at the core of many, if not most psychological disorders. I work from a curious, open and collaborative perspective. In therapy we will uncover the origins of your symptoms and unproductive patterns and learn to control and change the influences of both the past and present so that you can achieve a more ideal sense of self and be able to affect your environment and the people in it more powerfully. I strive to inspire those who are curious about therapy, or those who are privately suffering and do not know where to turn. I am confident that when you begin therapy, you will embark on a journey that is both challenging and rewarding. You will gain new insights and skills that will improve your life with enduring results.”
